Ikuru Town HCDT Skills Acquisition Phase 2 Criteria

The following constitute the minimum eligibility criteria for the Skills Acquisition Programme:

  • Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 40 years of age.
  • Educational Qualification: Applicants must possess a minimum of a Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent.
  • Residency: Applicants must have accommodation in Port Harcourt for the duration of the one-year programme or be willing to stay at the HCDT-rented apartment.
  • Interest: Applicants must demonstrate genuine interest in acquiring a specific skill by submitting a written expression of interest, which must be typed.
  • Commitment: Applicants must demonstrate the ability and willingness to fully commit to the programme’s duration and schedule.
  • Skill Preference: Applicants must indicate their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices of preferred skills.
  • Indigene Verification: Evidence of indigene-ship must be obtained from the Community Development Committee (CDC) or other recognised community leader(s)
  • Guarantor’s Attestation: Submission of an attestation letter from at least one guarantor is mandatory and should be typed.
  • Identification: One recent passport photograph must be attached to the application.
  • Household Limitation: Only one trainee shall be selected per household.
  • Previous Beneficiaries:  Households that benefited from Phase One of the programme are not eligible to apply.
  • Indemnity: No claims or indemnities shall be entertained after submission of the application.

  • The deadline for the submission of applications is the 10th of February, 2026.

  • Ensure to upload all relevant documents as stated in the criteria for selection.
