Mrs Afoke Igwe is a distinguished sustainability professional and PhD/DBA candidate at Monarch Business School, Switzerland, specialising in the implementation of sustainability practices. With a strong academic foundation, she holds an M.Sc. in Geography and Environmental Management from the University of Port Harcourt, a B.Sc. in Environmental Protection and Resource Management from the University of Calabar, and an Executive Master’s in Project Management from the Global Project Management College, UK.

Afoke has built an exceptional career at the intersection of business sustainability, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and community development. She currently serves as Stakeholder Engagement and CSR Manager at Green Energy International Ltd., where she plays a pivotal role in driving sustainable development initiatives and serves as Board Secretary for the Host Community Development Trust established by Green Energy/Lekoil JV under the PIA.

She previously worked as an Outcome Support Coordinator – Local Communities Workstream at the Facility for Oil Sector Transformation and Reforms (FOSTER), a high-impact initiative implemented by Oxford Policy Management and funded by the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID).

Afoke is highly skilled in designing and implementing sustainable business strategies, community engagement frameworks, and corporate governance models that align with global best practices. As an ISO Auditor and Lead Implementer of CSR, she has played a key role in integrating environmental and social governance (ESG) principles into corporate policies. Her professional mission is to bridge the gap between corporate profitability and sustainable development by leveraging CSR, social justice, and stakeholder engagement to drive impactful, long-term change in resource-dependent communities.
